Ivan Chaperot provides business advisory services to deep tech startups ranging from invention identification, patent filing strategy, licensing negotiations and patent portfolio management.
Prior to forming Novalto, Mr. Chaperot served as VP, Licensing & Corporate Development at Kudelski Group, where he led patent licensing negotiations, patent acquisitions and sourced IP-driven M&As. At Finjan Holdings (NASDAQ: FNJN), Mr. Chaperot served as VP, Licensing and was in charge of the worldwide patent licensing revenues. At Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), Mr. Chaperot negotiated innovative IP deals with startup companies and was also in charge of IP strategy. Prior to that, Mr. Chaperot invested in patented innovations at Intellectual Ventures, a multi-billion-dollar private equity firm. Prior to that, Mr. Chaperot licensed wireless and semiconductor technologies at Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and was a patent attorney at Thales Group, in charge of preparing new patent applications and responding to office actions.
Mr. Chaperot successfully closed over $100M in Medium strategic IP deals, earning him the world’s top 300 IP strategist award in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2022. He holds a M.S. in Optics and Computer Science. He is a (non-practicing) French & European Patent Attorney.
