Ivan Chaperot provides IP business solutions to high tech startups. Mr. Chaperot also advocates to help Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) compete on a level playing field with more capitalized and connected organizations.
Prior to forming Novalto Capital, Mr. Chaperot served as VP, Licensing & Corporate Development at Kudelski Group, where he led patent licensing negotiations, patent acquisitions and sourced IP-driven M&As. At Finjan Holdings (NASDAQ: FNJN), Mr. Chaperot served as VP, Licensing and was in charge of the worldwide patent licensing revenues. At Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), Mr. Chaperot negotiated innovative IP deals with startup companies and was also in charge of IP strategy. Prior to that, Mr. Chaperot invested in patented innovations at Intellectual Ventures, a multi-billion dollar private equity firm.
Mr. Chaperot is the co-author of "SMEs and Patents in the United States", les Nouvelles - Journal of the Licensing Executives Society, Vol. LII No. 4, September 2017, and the author of "Financial Valuation Techniques In IP Licensing", les Nouvelles - Journal of the Licensing Executives Society, Vol. XLII No. 4, December 2007.
Mr. Chaperot successfully closed over $100M in strategic IP deals, earning him the world’s top 300 IP strategist award in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. He holds a M.S. in Optics and Computer Science. He is a (non-practicing) French & European Patent Attorney.
